The Bay Area trio known as The Whutknotts are an engaging North Bay trio of singers and pickers who play an eclectic mix of traditional country, bluegrass and old-time rock & roll. The band is Doug Adamz on fiddle and guitar, Don Rich on guitar, and Larry Carlin on bass.

THE WHUTKNOTTS BAND MEMBERS

Doug Adamz -- Doug Adamz is a singer/songwriter who also plays guitar, fiddle and harmonica, and for over 20 years he has led his country band called Bravo. Originally from El Paso, TX, Doug has lived for over three decades in Marin County. His musical explorations have led him to writing commissioned works for the globally acclaimed Kronos Quartet as well as for The Joffrey Ballet, one of the world's premier dance companies. He has recorded four world beat albums with his other group Light Rain, and during Christmas time Dr. Elmo performs two of Doug's songs.

Larry Carlin -- Larry is a performer, producer, and writer of bluegrass in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally from King of Prussia, PA, he has been living in the Bay Area for 28 years, and he sings and plays standup bass. He performs in four bands, writes a monthly column titled "The Bluegrass Muse" for Bluegrass By The Bay, writes a biweekly e newsletter called "Carltone's Corner," and he produces a monthly show called Bluegrass Gold at Sweetwater in Mill Valley. He also plays with the duo Keystone Crossing as well as the bands Keystone Station and Wild Blue. He lives in the little hollow of Sausalito.

Don Rich -- Don is a native northern Californian who has played in numerous Irish and country bands over the years, including Bravo. Even though he is just as good as his namesake, he is not, however, the same Don Rich that sang with Buck Owens during the latter's heyday. He lives in the town of Petaluma.
